October 24, 2006 - Injury Management Organization, Inc. (IMO) announces today that Texas Department of Insurance certified IMO's workers' compensation health care network, named IMO Med-Select Network® on October 23rd as its 16th certified workers' compensation network in Texas. The IMO Med-Select Network ® will provide services to seven counties in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex. The network service area is comprised of Dallas, Tarrant, Denton, Collin, Hood, Rockwall and Wise counties. These seven counties constitute 23% of the Texas population. Certified workers' compensation networks were part of the reform package entitled HB7 and passed during the last legislative session in response to medical costs and over-utilization in the Texas workers' compensation system.
IMO Med-Select Network® is already planning to enlarge its service area with additional metroplex counties, as well as counties in other parts of Texas, in early 2007.
IMO was founded in 1991 and today provides a comprehensive package of Cost Containment Services for employers and carriers. Since its origination, IMO's philosophy and delivery of services emphasize return to work, effective medical case management, medical provider teamwork and effective medical utilization. IMO extends its expertise, quality delivery and accountability toward the benefit and intent of HB7 and will compliment these assets toward the delivery of IMO Med-Select Network®.
