Injury Management Organization, Inc. (IMO) helps employers reduce the costs associated with an injured employee either through a work or non-work related injury. IMO's healthcare management consultants help the injured employee navigate through the confusing sea of medical care, and ensure that the best and most appropriate care is provided. IMO's goal is to help the injured employee return to the job as quickly and safely as possible. IMO also helps companies identify which jobs are at high risk of injury. By doing so, IMO can reduce the likelihood of injury by providing specialized training to the employee to make him or her more resistant to potential injury. IMO also can recommend ways to modify the job to make it less risky to the employee.

IMO President Catherine Benavidez is a licensed occupational therapist and certified case manager with more than 18 years of workers' compensation, work-related injury and clinical experience. Ms. Benavidez is active in the Texas Occupational Therapy Association and Division of Workers’ Compensation (DWC). She shares her expertise in health care management speaking nationally to various industries and health-related groups. She has published articles on health care management techniques for medical providers. IMO is a Minority Woman Business Enterprise(MWBE).

Some traditionalists within health care argue that you can't provide quality care when focused on containing costs. However, it is possible when you create systems that blend the best medical care with prudent utilization. IMO plays the linchpin role in motivating injured employees to be responsive to treatment recommendations and to focus their energy on returning to productivity.

Teamwork with the employee, employer, medical provider and claims administrator
The IMO team believes integrated communication creates positive partnerships with the employee, the employer, the medical providers, the claims representative and all other outside resources. This partnership facilitates team conferences and fosters a team approach toward the common goal of caring for the injured employee.

Whether it's a single service or a comprehensive program, IMO takes great care to match its health care management services with the specific needs of the client. IMO assures accountability by eliminating over-utilization of services and pinpointing the proper treatment within the appropriate time frame.

Transitional return to work programs that compliment compliance with ADA
The case managers at IMO are specialized in particular industries. The case management team includes registered nurses, occupational therapists, physical therapists, rehabilitation counselors and vocational specialists. IMO adds value by matching the rehabilitation experience of the case manager with the specific case management needs of each case.
